Rev hillstrom - the artist
Though Rev plays several instruments, the Native American Flute is one of a kind. As a person of mixed decent Rev has struggled to find his place in the world and cosmos. Establishing a clear identity has been convoluted by so many different voices. Fortunately for Rev the voice of the Flute established its clear calling to him in the mid 90’s.
Through his relationship with the Flute Rev has ben able to deepen his understanding of what it means for him to be Native. Over the last 2 decades Rev has yielded himself to the Flute and its lessons and now shares these deeply personal and spiritual gifts with audiences worldwide.
On July 29, 2010 at the Hard Rock Cafe Rev released his first complete solo project entitled “Disenfranchised” which has been internationally released through Deer Star Productions. To learn more please visit the REVOX link.

Bass
Rev began his relationship with the Bass at the age of 15. Though it was the second instrument he learned to play it fast became his main stay. Beginning in the the late 80’s and still continuing today you can find Rev and his Bass any where in the country laying down intense grooves sure to captivates all who who have ears to hear.
Rev’s love for the Bass continued to grow and develop as he dedicated himself to studying the instrument while in college. His professor was none other than the critically acclaimed, world renowned Bassist Anthony Cox. Through this relationship Rev’s talents were taken to a whole new place.
Over the years Rev has had quality relationships with various Bass manufactures but today he is extremely grateful for his relationship with Steve and Jill Azola who now provide him with his one of a kind “Gypsy” Bass.
Drums & percussion
At the age of 7 Rev began his formal musical training with percussion. He spent 3 years just studying classical snare, working aggressive to perfect the rudimentary fundamentals that would help drive his musical career for years to come.
While in college Rev studied with the foremost expert in the world on four way coordination, Mr. Elliot Fine. Through this relationship Rev’s musical knowledge was methodically transformed into a rich sense of poly rhythmic constructs that reinforced his insessive creativity and uniqueness.
Today this training can continue to be seen in the depth of harmonic rhythmic support Rev brings to any musical endeavor regardless of what instrument he may be playing.
