As an educator Rev hillstrom blends his creativity and culture into a transformative learning experience for all students regardless of races, ethnicity, gender, age or social economic status. Rev incorporates various learning styles and techniques into all of of his curriculum so that all student have the opportunity to be life long learners. His indigenous worldview, artistic talents and sincere generosity engage students of all ages and ability at their very core. Rev Hillstrom‘s approach to education connects intuitive insight with intrinsic values of participates to create a true learning experiences. From Kindergarten to graduate school, Rev has shared his gifts challenging students to grow in their understanding of who they are and what their relationship is with the world around them.
Curriculum examples
MUSIC & MASTER PIECES: K-8
This curriculum was developed in conjunction with Angie Pena’ and is targeted to address the Academic Fine Arts Standard Artistic foundations for:
MUSIC: Identify the elements of music including melody, rhythm, harmony, dynamics, tone, texture, form and their related concepts.
CULTURE: Identify the characteristics of music & visual arts from a variety of cultures including the contributions of Minnesota American Indian tribes and communities.
VISUAL ARTS: Identify the elements of visual arts including color, line, shape, texture and space.
Native Americans: hollywood - history - Here & now K-12
This curriculum is designed to address the Minnesota Educations standards for Social Studies Standards in the following areas.
1. Students will understand that large and diverse American Indian Nations were the original inhabitants of North America.
2.Students will demonstrate knowledge of European exploration and settlement of the North American continent and the resulting interaction with American Indian Nations.
3. Students will compare ways of life of Indian Nations from different regions of North America. Regional variations of Indian cultures (Woodland, Plains, Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Arctic; Ojibwe, Dakota).
4.Students will know and explain that interactions between American Indian tribes and European explorers had positive and negative impacts.
This is an interactive multi disciplinary 3-5 day curriculum that is adaptable to all grade levels K-12.
THE CIRCLE: LIFE LONG LEARNER - All AGES
This a truly unique curriculum designed to address transformative issues of Integration and Equity. The curriculum is established in Indigenous philosophy and ideology surrounding our place in this world and our relationships within it. The curriculum is perfect for classrooms that experience clustering based upon academics as well as classrooms that have a divers population or desire to learn more about other and how we all fit together.

INTRODUCTION TO NATIVE AMERICAN:
MUSIC & DANCE: K-8
This curriculum is designed to address Academic educations standards for the Arts in the following areas.

This an high energy interactive curriculum that incorporates music, dance, and indigenous story telling .
INTRODUCTION TO NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE:
8 - Graduates Studies.
This curriculum is designed to address the academic educations standards for the Arts in the following areas.
1.Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area.
2.Demonstrate understanding of the personal, social, cultural aspect of the arts.
This is a transformative musical experience that is a must have for musicians and non-musicians alike. This course will allow students to interact with the Native American Flute through traditional stories and lessons. No prior musical experience is required, the course is taught through indigenous philosophy and deepens students understanding of music regardless of their musical proficiency. Class has been taught to with students who range from chamber performers to just music lovers.
